Well designed ads with a strong and direct message are not enough anymore. The ads that are developed nowadays use RFID technology in order to create a double bond between the user and his mobile phone.

Mobile technology is unstoppable. Nowadays it is difficult to imagine a businessman, a housewife and even kids without a phone at their disposal. Thus, this becomes an element to take into account when designing 21st century advertising.

So far only QR codes are used in order to access mobile content, but a company from Granada, Spain has gone a step further and created the first advertisement that incorporates RFID technology.

Pionono.es, a producer of a typical dessert from Santa Fe (Granada), the "Piononos", which has created the first announcement that will implement RFID technology.

Samurai route.
On June 5 two motorcycles left Coria del Rio (Seville) that will travel to Japan on the so called Samurai route. Each of these motorcycles carries a RFID tag that is programmed differently: one will connect users directly with the facebook page of pionono.es, the other one connects directly with their website with exclusive contents.

Jose Angel Molina, the Managing Director of pionono.es says: "Our product is a combination of tradition when it comes to the production and technology in the development of actions for reaching our customers. We want people to get to know pionono.es and that they enjoy it. This is the reason for trying to incorporate the latest technology. We think that we are the first ones to use RFID technology in our advertising, making us pioneers in trying to use the latest technology for promoting a product that has its origin in the year 1858.

For his part, Gabriel Medina, head of Macanudos.es, a company in charge of development, says that "the trends in marketing are increasingly aimed at mobile marketing and the gradual inclusion of RFID technology. It has an immense potential in this market sector. Gradually there are more phones that incorporate RFID readers and they may even be added on MicroSD cards, so the RFID / NFC is poised to become a niche in business to keep in mind as it is already emerging in areas hitherto not used. "

The Samurai route will reach its final destination Japan in late June, just at the time the new Iphone 4 will be available that may incorporate the possibility of adding a RFID reader. So it will be the first RFID announcement that the lucky owners of this new model of the iPhone will see.
